Mother's Day

On Mother's Day Ian made me a special dinner and brownies for dessert! I felt so loved!!!

We took pictures of Rylie in the outfit that I wore home from the hospital for her 3 month pictures. The outfit was still big on her!!!! I can only imagine how big it was on me when I wore it home from the hospital!!!!! I am so thankful that my grandma saved the outfit all these years and that I have a co-worker that knits and who fixed the front of the outfit for me!!!

Please excuse the need to correct the color in the top pictures... we haven't touched them up in Photoshop yet!!!

I love the look on her face here!!! So expressive!!!

She makes me laugh every day!

I'm totally listening to you mom...

Aww shucks...

What is she doing to me?!?

Mommy and Me... Mother's Day 2014

April Showers bring MAY flowers... or more firsts in our case!

May found Mommy ready for summer vacation and snuggle time with her baby girl! Rylie got to attend her first IEP meeting this month, well first FEW IEP meetings this month... she slept like a champ through most of the meetings. One meeting she did wake up and she proceeded to present my report for me, well at least she thought she was presenting my report! :)

Lately she has taken to snuggling with her security blanket (lovey) monkey and her floppy zebra doll in her carseat! It is so cute to see her with her "friends!"

It's a BIRD... It's a PLANE... NO!!! IT'S SUPER RYLIE!!!!

School wears a little one out!

Dinner with dad
Rylie is becoming SO expressive!!! She is coo-ing and talking to us along with smiling and a little pouting action... She's not rolling yet, but she can get herself started by getting up onto her side by twisting herself and getting propped up on her elbow. When she has tummy time she is lifting her head and feet off of the ground and rocking like a see-saw! With help she can roll back onto her back. She has become slightly attached to her floppy zebra doll and the monkey lovey. Ian has now moved her stuffed animals to one end of the crib, but she still manages to grab one of her security monkeys and yank them over her face. She has also started to enjoy chewing on her hands and fingers... She is definitely a drooly little thing too! (May 14) Over the past week or so Ian and I have both noticed that when we hold Rylie up on our shoulder that she will put her arm around our neck and snuggle into our shoulder.

More firsts...

Just a few days after Easter, Ian tells me when I got home that Rylie was pouting during the day. Of course I didn't get to see it first hand like him. I was a little bummed but knew I would get to see it sooner than later... That evening I was playing some videos of her on my phone and she did NOT like it when the "baby" in the video was upset! She pouted and started to cry too!!! She is such a sympathetic girl!!!!

The next day she giggled twice for her daddy at appropriate times!! She even giggled when I got home at something that was funny! We went to PetSmart to get the dogs some food we started out by looking at the fish tanks. When it was time to leave that area, I said "bye bye fishies" and Rylie waved at herself!!!

Rylie had her first babysitter that wasn't her Grammy and Papa on the 25th of April. Ian had an interview to go to while I was at work so one of our friends, Sally, came over to play with lil' miss! She did really well considering that she hadn't spent much time with Sally prior to being left with her!

On Rylie's 3 month birthday Ian had his first day away from Rylie while he was at work. I managed to get everything together and Rylie to the babysitter without crying... that is until I left her babysitter's house without her! Being with a babysitter all day definitely made Rylie want to snuggle and stay awake when she got home with us!

Now for some pictures...

I'm NOT happy!!!!

Hippity Hop... the Easter Bunny is coming to town!

We took Rylie-Roo to Bass Pro Shop for her first Easter picture with the infamous Easter Bunny!!! She didn't mind the bunny until I walked away, then she wasn't too sure about the situation!

We met Berkeley and Sheridan after we met Mr. Bunny. They thought that Rylie was adorable as everyone does after meeting her! We had a busy morning with the cousins!!!
On our way home from the Bunny and meeting the cousins...

After changing out of our Easter dress... still out!!!

The Easter Bunny did find Rylie after all! Mommy was really worried since Easter snuck up on her! I know that the first Easter, especially when the child is only 10 weeks old, is more for the parents... but I still felt like I was a horrible parent because I didn't have a basket for her or anything to put in the basket!!! But alas, I came through and found an awesome basket and managed to find age appropriate stuffers!!!

Rylie is trying her hand at being the Easter Bunny!!

Morning nap with her bunny from Grammy!

The super amazing easter basket that I found!

April Showers Bring... 2 month shots and more!!!

Lil Miss Adorable had her 8 week/2 month appointment on March 28. She weighed 10 lbs 2 oz and was 22.25" long. She wasn't able to get her shots at this appointment because she wasn't officially 60 days old. Who would have thought that 2 days would make that big of a difference!!! Her shots were postponed until April 3rd. She wasn't too fussy afterward, but we did start her on a Tylenol and warm bath regimen!!!

After I put Rylie to bed on the 4th, I went back in to check on her and found her sucking her thumb! It was funny. She had a pacifier in her mouth (a rare time that she actually sucked on a paci for any amount of time) when I put her in her crib, but when I turned to turn out her lamp, she popped the paci out and popped her thumb in!!!

Rylie has decided that she likes to "swim" in the big bath tub with mommy. After throwing up all over the two of us, I decided to clean us both off in one bath by getting in the deep tub in our bathroom. I think we have a water baby on our hands!

The next weekend we had friends in town from Tulsa visiting on their way to California. Ian wasn't feeling too great, thanks to the medication he was on... Rylie wasn't feeling too great either! On Sunday she slept most of the day, and when she wasn't sleeping she was eating! Monday found me leaving work mid-morning to rescue Ian from a screaming baby who was refusing bottles and was extremely upset! I finally got an appointment with the doctor and she felt confident that Rylie has infant GERD. She gave us a prescription for Zantac and sent us home. Lil Miss weighted 10 lb 15 oz!! The Zantac seemed to help Rylie and her screaming fits during and after feeding!

On the 18th, Rylie realized that she had something that moved at the end of her legs! It was so cute to see her realize that her feet moved while sitting in her daddy's lap!

Return to Work...

I was supposed to return to work on March 13 according to my short term insurance company... however... my OB said that I shouldn't return to work until after I had my 6 week visit, which was the 13th. After multiple calls to the insurance company and threatening to contact a lawyer about the situation, the insurance company wisened up and decided that they shouldn't count the day that I sat in the hospital IN LABOR as a recovery day AFTER having Rylie...

When I did return to work on that Friday, it was hard being back since I knew that Rylie wasn't feeling 100%. It did help that she was home with her daddy and not someone else! The day went by so quickly as I tried to figure out what had been going on with my students while I was out on leave. I had 6 weeks of notes and documentation to sift through, oh and a kazillion referrals and new students to test!!!
